PhilCare’s Health Vantage: Your Partner to Keeping Your Family Healthy

For millions of Filipinos working around the world,
the decision to work far from their loved ones is fueled by their desire to provide a better future for their families. In fact, numbers from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) estimate that there are 2.5M Filipinos working outside the country in 2015.
Anywhere in the world, there is a Filipino toiling in unbearable heat of the desert or the unforgiving cold of the snow, getting their strength from thoughts of going home to a secure future:  kids with good college education, a house that is both beautiful and comfortable, and the possibility of a secure retirement when the time to forego the contract renewal comes.

While a comfortable future is something that all Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) have always dreamed of, it’s also understandable that on top of their mind is the health of their family. Because even if it’s possible to send money to cover expenses due to sudden illnesses and hospitalizations, the emergency nature of illnesses is bound to drain the family’s finances.  Sooner or later, it could be the money intended for this month’s grocery or utility bills, your kids’ tuition fees or for the retirement fund.

This is the premise behind PhilCare’s Health Vantage, a prepaid health card that provides coverage for emergency care and hospitalization for viral and bacteria illnesses, treatment of injuries resulting from accidents except for cerebrovascular accidents (stroke), accepted in over 500 PhilCare-accredited hospitals nationwide.
The best thing about the Health Vantage card is that you can choose your card of preference according to your budget. As a family bread winner, the flexibility in pricing allows OFWs the convenience to budget according to your finances and schedule your purchase based on the type of access that you need.

The Health Vantage packs a punch when it comes to its features:  it covers emergency room care and hospitalization inclusive of doctor’s fees, laboratory and diagnostic procedures, room and board, and medicines (except vaccines and vitamins) as medically necessary during confinement except for cases declared as non-coverable. The card can be used multiple times within one-year period up to plan benefit limit, and comes with a Php 50,000 accidental death and dismemberment coverage and Php 10,000 life insurance coverage.
Availing of your very own Health Vantage cards is easy and hassle-free. Log on to www.philcare.com.ph and click SHOP NOW. You can pay for your purchases using your credit card or through any of PhilCare’s third party partners.

Nutri 10 Plus, Vitamins Perfect For Child's Growing Needs

Summer is already here. The temperature last week was 34°c and its getting hotter everyday. We have to open our windows to make sure that we won't get suffocated because of the heat. Summer is also the season of flu, bacteria that can cause cough and build up of phlegm. Kids should always be geared with proper protection. Their body needs protection from harmful diseases. That's why I was so thankful that I used Nutri 10 vitamins for my Chelsea. This is the kind of vitamins that she really need. For sure most of you know that Chelsea is a picky eater. She only eat if we have Sinigang or gravy that she put in her steamed rice. After taking Nutri 10 for almost a month now. I noticed some changes in her appetite and daily routine.  Before, Chelsea stays up until 2 am and wakes up around 11 am. Thankfully that routine changed and she also started to eat vegetables. As a mom I'm always worried because I know that she is not getting the right nutrients that her

A quick trip down holiday memory lane

Can you feel it? The cold breeze, holiday songs, festive decorations, and colorful lights and lanterns… it’s Christmas season, everybody! Filipinos are known to celebrate Christmas the longest – it starts with the BER months and ends in January. Along with parties and get-togethers, we also have different traditions to celebrate the yuletide season. Since I was a kid, I associated grapes and round fruits with the holiday season. My grandma used to buy a lot of grapes during the BER months and placed them on our table along with other fruits. The grapes were also hung on windows and doors to help bring in good fortune for the coming year. I remember her asking me who was eating the grapes as she noticed that they were slowly “disappearing” and I said it must have been my aunties and our cat. But… It was silly me all along, of course! My aunties ended up buying more, much to my delight.   For Christmas eve, my aunties and grandma would make their delicious fruit salad – a huge can of f
