The Big Blowout Boodle from Seafood Island

Image
If there is one thing common with Filipinos, I believe that would be the love ofFOOD.
I can still remember when my other relatives come home, not only that we get crowded at home but also our table gets crowded. They usually call it "The Filipino hospitality".
Recently, I had the opportunity to dine at Blackbeard's Seafood Island and with doing so, I had relived the experience of my childhood days in which food was served on top of the banana leaves and from clay pots, giving that more appetizing look and aroma.

Blackbeard's Seafood Island is a seafood restaurant located in the Bldg.G SM by the bay, Seaside Blvd. SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City and has other branches nationwide. This restaurant is well-known for its fresh seafood and boodle feast.
One of their latest offerings is the Blow Out Boodle which is perfect for birthday blowout, family bonding and reunion with friends. The Blow Out Boodle is good for 5-6 person for only Php 2,350.00. It's already a complete…

Affordable Asian Restaurants in the Metro

Image
According to playwright George Bernard Shaw, "there is no sincerer love than the love for food".

With all the restaurants in the metro, we may have tried some of it and still a lot to discover, different cuisines, taste, and styles in serving their best sellers. My goal is to find these restaurants together with other foodies from the Metro.

Sen Lek Thai Noodles

Is a small shop located on the ground floor of SMDC Sea Residences in Macapagal Ave just across the Golden Phoenix Hotel, This place is mostly visited by foreign nationalities who are staying in near the area. One thing that caught my attention is the price and the food serving. I'm a noodle person and this one is just perfect to start my day. So we arrive their almost lunch time. The place has a few visitors that time. thank goodness it was not packed.
I ordered the Pad Thai which is one of the famous noodle dishes in Thailand. consists of flat rice noodles, it has some tofu, small dried shrimp, wansuy, bean spr…

Quick Stop at Chubby's Rib Shack

Image
If you happen to drop by Commerce Center in Alabang, one of the restaurants that you will notice will be  Chubby Rib Shacks, this restaurant offers American and Mexican Dishes, I tried few of their specialties and here is a quick review of the place and their food.

The place can be a good place to hang out with friends. The ambiance is the usual American diners vibe. They also serve cold beers. It can accommodate at least 50- 60 people.

It was coated with BBQ Sauce. It was served with rice, mashed beans and a big half of slice of bread.  If you love carbs, I recommend this for you. The meat is tender but it didn't have that "wow" factor or a unique taste that you will crave for. It seems like pretty normal oven roasted baby back ribs with BBQ sauce.

The Fish is steamed creamy dory, the fish tastes bland even with salsa on top.
Again there are too many carbs on the plate. Maybe they can just ask if the customer wants some rice, bread or mashed beans.

The Black Pig, Taste of Modern European Cuisine

Image
A few weeks ago I started checking some new restaurant, bars, and those restaurants that I've never been before. There are places that you know that you can just sit and just order anything on the menu without being intimidated by the place or the people eating at the next table.

Casual Dining can be, somehow luxurious but one thing is for sure " You only live once and we work not just to sleep and pay bills, so giving yourself a treat for a sumptuous meal is a must.

Someone asked me this question,
"Is it expensive to eat in a European restaurant?", at first, My answer is Maybe Yes, Maybe Not?
Just yesterday I chat with her and told her about my dining experience in a modern European restaurant, called the Black Pig.

Black Pig is a modern European restaurant located on the 2nd floor of Commerce Center, Alabang. One thing I like about this restaurant aside from their unique and delicious food is that they don't have a specialty. Chef Carlos, the one who is in cha…

Image
“We did a study and found out that during that time, walang casual dining burger joint. So, I filled the gap sa market, yung need sa market na I think may potential mag scale up. Hindi naman ako nagkamali. Sinimulan ko yung Zark’s.”, Zark recalls.
Young entrepreneur, Rolandrei Viktor “Zark” Varona, found the middle ground in offering hamburgers that truly satisfy even the most gargantuan appetites, yet at prices that do not break the bank.
It began eight years ago on a casual stroll along the Malate area, Zark discovered a vacant 20-sqm. commercial space along Taft Avenue. At that time, the former OFW, who had just concluded a two-year stint in the kitchens of a cruise ship already owning a franchise for a noodle shop that unfortunately did not work. After six months, he revisited the spot and knew that the location held much potential. The concentration of a young market gave him the idea to put up a burger joint. Everything was history!

Fresh. Huge. Great
