Why Potatoes Are Good for Pregnant Moms

Nutrition is very important for everyone, especially for soon-to-be moms. When I was pregnant, I was very conscious of my baby’s health and safety in my tummy. And I’m sure us parents agree that dietary and lifestyle choices have a great impact on the health of babies. During pregnancy, you are not the only one who is eating, the baby in your tummy also eats with you. You need to consume enough vitamins and minerals to meet your daily dietary needs. And it goes without saying that you need to munch on healthy and nutritious food, not just anything you feel like eating. When I was pregnant, I refrained from eating rice and replaced it with fruits and vegetables, eating hard boiled eggs and boiled potatoes really helped me out, too. Yes, potatoes! My doctor told me that potatoes are rich in potassium. Would you believe it has more potassium than a banana?  Also, a medium size potato (5.2 oz) with skin on only has 110 calories. Combine that with some eggs and fruits and yo

As the month of March starts the world also celebrates Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, an awareness campaign to promote Colorectal Cancer (CRC) Screening . CRC, tagged as the third most common cancer among Filipinos, following breast and lung cancer here in the Philippines. Almost all of these cancers start as abnormal growths in the lining of the colon and rectum called polyps. These polyps grow slowly and take around 10 years for some polyps to develop into cancer. Though not all polyps progress to cancer, the removal of these polyps reduces the risk of developing cancer. In addition, polyps and early cancer usually do not cause complaints, like rectal bleeding, constipation, and abdominal pain that are experienced by patients in later stages of cancer. How sleep is key to living a better life

Some people think SLEEP is a luxury that they can't afford but for me, it's a necessity. It affects my mood if I don't get the necessary hours of sleep or I'll end up crawling back to bed and won't be able to finish any work. I also noticed that I suffered from stomach problems, mood swing, and high blood pressure during the times that I only sleep 2-3 hrs at night. When it comes to sleep, we always hear the range of  seven to nine hours  as the recommended average for adults.  According to figures, however,  60 percent  of individuals never reach this goal due to different factors, a trend that can wreak havoc on health and overall lifestyle. One of the most commonly pointed factors affecting sleep is work-related stress. According to a study that highlights the direct effects of work on individuals,  33 percent  of the participants identified lack of sleep as an effect of stress. This subject is what Uratex tackled during its recently concluded offi
