Video Games: A solid connection to every generation

It’s a rainy Monday morning. Ten years ago, it would have been the perfect setting to do nothing while waiting for class suspension. I kind of envy my daughter being on vacation and having the day to fiddle and play games on her phone. I was facing my computer, contemplating my next article when I remembered that it was Memorial Day. I should take the day off but as a mom working from home, what’s the difference between a holiday and a regular working day? It’s not like I could go outside to destress, then an idea came to mind. It turned out, I didn’t have to envy my daughter at all.            What’s the best source of entertainment within the confines of our home? If you answered mobile and computer gaming, you’re absolutely right! It was in college when I got really hooked on gaming. Sure, consoles back in my younger days Like Play Station 1, SEGA Genesis, and NES were awesome, but you had to buy each CD or cartridge to play the game, which is way too expensive for us back in the d

Appreciating Our Tireless Grab Delivery Riders this Labor Day

It has been more than a year that our country is in community quarantine. Within this duration of preventing the spread of COVID, we still try to adjust to the new normal like social distancing, wearing face masks and face shields, and some of us even started working at home to lessen the chances of getting sick. During the height of the pandemic, we relied heavily on Online Delivery Services to purchase our food, groceries, and other necessities, especially when my husband has been part of the skeletal workforce of their company and needed to stay at their office.  Online Delivery Services like Grab Food and Grab Mart served as the bridge of different businesses to consumers during the community quarantine, employing hundreds or more delivery riders in delivering essentials to households. Just like our other frontliners, these brave delivery riders deserve to be acknowledged. While browsing today, I saw this short video for Labor Day from Grab to pay tribute to the brave delivery part

Tracing back my steps on how and when I started blogging

It was more than five years now since I started my journey to blogging. I remember resigning from my previous job as a customer service representative from a local BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) to become a full-time mom for my kids. The adjustment was not easy as my body was still used to my usual routine when I was still working. Thankfully I was able to cope up after a month. During my free time, I usually read online blogs about parenting, beauty, and lifestyle. I remember following some pioneer bloggers back then who are now well-known influencers in their field. These bloggers inspired me to start my blog that focuses on parenting, food, and lifestyle. I decided to tell my husband about my plan and, I was able to get his support to start my blog "The Kitchen Mom by Dhess." My goal back then was to write my personal experiences about parenting and lifestyle, recipes of my favorite dishes that I prepare for my family, and a personal review of the places and restaura
