My First Visit at Mesa SM City Dasmarinas

A few weeks ago, I visited Mesa Filipino Moderne in SM Dasmarinas., It was my first visit in this branch. It is one of the high-end Filipino restaurants here in the Philippines. Mesa is known for its delicious home cooked Filipino dishes. I'm into Korean and Japanese food for the past few months but I suddenly miss our own Pinoy dishes. I heard about Mesa from few of my mommy friend and I'm hearing a lot of good reviews about it. That's why I decided to check it out and try their specialities.

As soon as you enter Mesa, you'll notice the touch of Filipino inspired interior and design of the place which makes the place looks more tempting to dine in.There is a family who was already dining when I arrived with my friends. It's a kid-friendly restaurant which is really important for me

Staff are all polite and always ready to assist customers. Some of the dishes served with showmanship.

They also accept birthday party and other occasions. This is the private room, it can accommodate 10-20 people. Price starts from Php 5000-Php10000 consumable.

Tawilis with Mangga on a Spoon
We had Taliwis with Mango for our appetizer. This is also served with house blend Bagoong. You can order this for only Php 155.00.

Swahe on the Rocks
Is one of the unique dishes at Mesa. The shrimp or Shawe is cooked on top of a hot stone. The shrimp was cooked in just a few minutes. You can smell how fresh the shrimp is every time the staff open the lid, which makes it more appetizing. The firm texture of shrimp when you first bite it means it was cooked perfectly.

Bagoong Rice
I love fried rice with bagoong. What makes this unique and special is that they add green mangoes, tomatoes and some onions on it. The shrimp paste tastes good and perfectly blended in the rice.

Tinapa Rice
This dish makes me remember the old days where I usually request my grandma to buy Tinapa and salted egg in the market for my breakfast. The rice was stirfried and Tinapa flake (smoked fish flakes) topped with some freshly cut tomatoes and salted egg. I really love this fried rice.

Laing 2 Way
One of my favorite Filipino dishes is Laing, My lolo (grandfather) is a pure Bicolano so we always have Laing in our table. This is my first time to eat Laing that was cooked and served in 2 ways, I like the idea that they put adobo flakes on top of the Laing which makes it more appetizing and added a new flavor and texture to the Laing.

Salt Crusted Seabass ( APAHAP )
This method or cooking procedure when the fish was buried or covered 250 grams rock salt. It cooks the fish evenly. When the hard salt shell cracked open, the fragrance of the fresh seabass came out. I was really amazed when I tasted it, it's not even salty and taste

Crispchon Serve 2 Way

This dish is prepared by the server,  the 1st way is that the Crispchon was thinly sliced and wrapped in homemade pandan crepe with some vegetables like cucumber and spring onions. Serve with their house blend sauces. The 2nd way is the remaining Crispchon is tossed in Chilli garlic.
The skin is crisp and the meat is tender. One of my favorite.

Price will range around Php 1000- Php 1500 good for two people. They also have ongoing promo, Bellichon Feast Good for one person Php 230- Php 350

If you are craving for some home-cooked Filipino dishes, I highly recommend you to visit Mesa Filipino Moderne located at UG, SM City Dasmarinas.
There are still a lot of Filipino dishes that I would like to try in Mesa, so it's a sure thing that I will be visiting them again.

Dengue is Real, Keep Your Child Safe with OFF! Lotion

Our Family is always our top priority. It was September of 2015 when my daughter was hospitalized and turned out to be positive for Dengue, as a mom I was so scared. Nurses always come in to our room every 6 hours to get blood sample from my daughter for them to monitor her platelet count.  It was an unpleasant sight for me to see my daughter in that condition at her young age. When my daughter cries due to the pain of needle inserted to her skin, it was a more painful scene and sound for me, wishing that all of what I see and hear are not real, it was really heart breaking. It was that same month in which Dengue case was really prominent and a lot of kids are being rushed to the same hospital to be treated, we stayed in the hospital for more than a week for my daughter's recovery and since then, I always said to my self "Never Again" that I will allow this to happen and was thankful to God that she guided my daughter Before our stay in the ho...
