Maxicare hosts the first-ever Veggie Festival

We Filipinos love to eat and that is a fact, and we eat to our heart's delight, not thinking about how this can affect our health, including our environment. Most of the time it is really hard to resist the temptation, but it all goes down to discipline and eagerness to change for a healthier you.

It’s about time to eat healthy, live healthy, and take control of your health! As obesity and unhealthy lifestyles continue to grow into a global problem, Maxicare Healthcare Corporation, the country’s leading healthcare provider, arranged its first-ever outdoor festival – Maxicare Veggie Fest 2019, a project in support of the company’s Chairman of the Board Mr. Roberto “Bobby” Macasaet Jr’s personal advocacy for healthier lifestyles.

“One of the easiest ways to start your journey to living a healthy life is by eating a plant-based diet, which is why we are very proud to be holding the Maxicare Veggie Fest.

Mr. Macasaet said that the main objective of this year Maxicare Veggie Fest is to improve health and wellness , focusing on plant-based nutrition. The event also aims to encourage more peopple to live their best by boosting not only their physical  but also their health.

In its mission to improve others’ quality of life, Maxicare encourages members and non-members alike to incorporate a variety of fruits and vegetables, whole grains and starches, good fats, and lean proteins into their diet so they can live longer and feel stronger by inspiring others to fight disease and eat healthily.

The first ever Veggie Fest was held at the Legaspi Active Park in Makati City last March 15, 2019.The veggie fest was packed with plant-based advocates that offered handpicked products for health-conscious consumers. The activities included a film showing on plant-based lifestyle and a talk on “Holistic Healing for Wholesome Living” presented by Yoga instructor Donna Francisco, “Guilt Free and Gluten Free Dessert” by Jertie Abergas of Jerties Kitchen, “Skin Food –
Understanding the Right Food for Beautiful Skin by Dr. Kathy Amurao-Herrera, “Aging Gracefully” by May Manahan-Lagdameo and Dr. Willie Lagdameo of Health & Wellness Coaches Philippines, Inc., “Lifestyle Medicine” by Dr. Johann Manez, and a “Local Native Plant-Based Eating with Mesa ni Misis” by Juana Manahan- Yupangco.

It’s time to get rid of old habits and start concentrating on moving towards excellent health.

Dengue is Real, Keep Your Child Safe with OFF! Lotion

Our Family is always our top priority. It was September of 2015 when my daughter was hospitalized and turned out to be positive for Dengue, as a mom I was so scared. Nurses always come in to our room every 6 hours to get blood sample from my daughter for them to monitor her platelet count.  It was an unpleasant sight for me to see my daughter in that condition at her young age. When my daughter cries due to the pain of needle inserted to her skin, it was a more painful scene and sound for me, wishing that all of what I see and hear are not real, it was really heart breaking. It was that same month in which Dengue case was really prominent and a lot of kids are being rushed to the same hospital to be treated, we stayed in the hospital for more than a week for my daughter's recovery and since then, I always said to my self "Never Again" that I will allow this to happen and was thankful to God that she guided my daughter Before our stay in the ho...
