How to Raise Well-Rounded Kids at Home

Maybe most of us parents now still wonder how our parents managed to raise us despite the challenges in life in the past, and becoming  a parent yourself, you also wonder on how you can make sure that you'll be up for the challenge to make sure your kids grow up ready for whatever the future brings.

With a fast-paced lifestyle that requires us to be more efficient in balancing work-life responsibilities for us parents that can mostly leave us having lesser time for our kids. Not to mention the school environments being driven by technological shifts that young kids have to keep up with. All of these factors can lead to having a less physical activity or exercise, also compromising the quality of food being served to our kids due to the fast-paced lifestyle, making everything instant and resulting in kids facing issues like attention problems, learning deficiencies, social difficulty, and obesity.

These new challenges that parents have to contend with can be overwhelming. that's not to say, however, that you can't do anything about it. With consistency, dedication, patience, and a little guidance and support from fellow parents, experts and Parentology+, powered by NANKID, it's entirely possible for parents to ensure that their kids are future ready.

The Future Starts at Home

Recently, I have attended a parenting event that has been initiated by NANKID, to raise awareness and tips for the growing challenge in the world of parenting.

As parents try to navigate the new challenges presented by changing lifestyles and technological advancements, Parentology+, powered by NANKID, is making sure that parents are empowered with the tips that will help reshape their children's future.

Launched earlier this year, Parentology+ is anchored on three pillars and these are proper nutrition, active lifestyle, and high social quotient. "The success of Parentology+ gave parents an opportunity to address challenges presented by modern parenting. We would like to go deeper into these issues and really flesh out the importance of these three pillars, as well as give parents the tools to establish this at home," exclaimed Jean Espino, Vice President for Marketing- Premium Milks of Nestle Philippines.

In the said event, they have also prepared an activity that let's mom and kids do work together to see what traits their child already possesses and how they can further build on them to make them more socially competent.

Nutrition can be challenging for parents, especially when kids need around 3,000 calories a day. However, Joy Sotto and Ms. Aleli Magtibay, Nestle's own Nutritionist, say that it can be done with moderation, balance, and variety of food options. ms Aleli further advises parents, "Follow portions by making sure to give a combination of go, grow, and glow foods in every meal, and practice variety, in terms of flavor, texture, color, and food preparation."

For Parentology+, a kitchen set-up was created for kids to be able to select different food in the pantry to create a balanced meal which will then be verified by an interactive nutrition guide scanner.

Playtime may seem like a regular activity for children, but it benefits on the child's physical health is hard to ignore, Anton Del Rosario and Dr. Edgar Eufemio, an orthopedist specializing in sports medicine, want parents and kids to realize that some activities are better than others. Through a fun goal kicking challenge, kids learned the different traits that are beneficial to their physical development and lifestyle.

Parents are encouraged to be a role model for their children, and participate in their various activities, may it be socializing, eating healthier and staying active.

Whatever busy schedule or things that usually occupy our time, we should always remember, our kids are the main reason why we work and it is just right that we spend enough time for them.

Parentology+, powered by NANKID, will also be coming to SM City Cebu on August 11-12 and Abreeza Davao on August 25-26.

This is great. I always try to raise my kids to be well rounded. I want them to know how to do things for themselves. I think that's important, so they don't turn into helpless adults.

This seems like a really great way to help raise well rounded kids! It is so important to help them learn to properly socialize and to provide them with good nutrition to make sure they know what to do later in life.

I so agree that we as parents lead my example. I hate the saying “do as I say not as I do” because it negates the responsibility of the parent to be the role model. Sounds like a great company!

Tigdas/Measles: Mga Sintomas, Pagkain at Lunas

Nutri 10 Plus, Vitamins Perfect For Child's Growing Needs

Summer is already here. The temperature last week was 34°c and its getting hotter everyday. We have to open our windows to make sure that we won't get suffocated because of the heat. Summer is also the season of flu, bacteria that can cause cough and build up of phlegm. Kids should always be geared with proper protection. Their body needs protection from harmful diseases. That's why I was so thankful that I used Nutri 10 vitamins for my Chelsea. This is the kind of vitamins that she really need. For sure most of you know that Chelsea is a picky eater. She only eat if we have Sinigang or gravy that she put in her steamed rice. After taking Nutri 10 for almost a month now. I noticed some changes in her appetite and daily routine.  Before, Chelsea stays up until 2 am and wakes up around 11 am. Thankfully that routine changed and she also started to eat vegetables. As a mom I'm always worried because I know that she is not getting the right nutrients that her

A quick trip down holiday memory lane

Can you feel it? The cold breeze, holiday songs, festive decorations, and colorful lights and lanterns… it’s Christmas season, everybody! Filipinos are known to celebrate Christmas the longest – it starts with the BER months and ends in January. Along with parties and get-togethers, we also have different traditions to celebrate the yuletide season. Since I was a kid, I associated grapes and round fruits with the holiday season. My grandma used to buy a lot of grapes during the BER months and placed them on our table along with other fruits. The grapes were also hung on windows and doors to help bring in good fortune for the coming year. I remember her asking me who was eating the grapes as she noticed that they were slowly “disappearing” and I said it must have been my aunties and our cat. But… It was silly me all along, of course! My aunties ended up buying more, much to my delight.   For Christmas eve, my aunties and grandma would make their delicious fruit salad – a huge can of f
