Four Safety Tips during Disasters

Earthquake, Volcanic Eruption, Flood and Fire, these are some of the usual disasters that we've seen on the news recently, with our country being prone of almost all natural and man-made disaster, being prepared is our best weapon to keep ourselves and our family safe during these times.

Natural disasters can neither be controlled nor predicted. But while they can leave catastrophic damages, everyone can take precautionary steps to mitigate its adverse effects. Solane, the country’s leading LPG solutions provider, reiterates its Dapat Lang advocacy campaign – emphasizing the importance of doing the right thing for the family, for others, and society as a whole – through these tips to ensure everyone’s safety during natural disasters:

Prepare an emergency kit
An important step in preparing for unforeseen events is having an emergency kit ready for you and your family. Basic supplies kit should include: a gallon of water per person per day for the next three days, three-day supply of food, flashlight, extra batteries, first aid kit, seven-day supply of medicines, multi-purpose tools, cell phone with chargers, family and emergency contact information, copies of personal documents, extra cash, blankets, maps of the area.

Safety during fire
Some of the common causes of fire, especially during natural disasters like earthquake, are faulty electrical and gas lines. If you are caught in an establishment engulfed by fire, immediately vacate the area and ask for help. Do not hide in closets and small spaces, and remember to stay low and crawl as it is easier to breathe in a fire if you stay low.

Plan your escape routes and safe places
It’s important to have a sketch of your house so you know how to immediately get out when disaster strikes. Establish and record the location of your meeting area, and be sure to practice this with your family members.

Be informed
Know the hazards within your community, and ask the local authorities about the emergency plans and warning signals. Being informed will help you gather a detailed plan for your own household.

Keeping a list of phone numbers like Fire Department or Local Police in your phonebook or on the door of your fridge is a must.
With proper preparation, you are not only alleviating fear, anxiety, and loss but you are also reducing the impact of catastrophic disasters.

Staycation at Bosay Hotel and Resort in Antipolo

After a gruesome week at work, I was able to spend my off with my family and we decided to have a staycation, with some recommendations from my colleagues and friends, we chose to stay in Bosay Resort in Antipolo.

Although I have read some bad review, we decided to still pursue to see what they have to offer since the place is pretty accessible by commute or by car.

We stayed in their hotel for 2 days and 1 night and here's what I can say with the experience that we had with Bosay Hotel & Resort.

First of all, I am proud to say that I am really impressed with their customer service. It was superb, we were assisted from the time we arrived, during our check-in process and their staff is really courteous.

The staff who assisted us on our way to the hotel even spent the time to explain details about the resort and its facilities, and I can say that their employees are really knowledgeable about what their resort has to offer.

Upon arrival at the Hotel lobby, it has a relaxing am…

Rebisco Cracker’s Pasobra Pack makes snack time more meaningful

Enjoying a snack or sharing your food to your friend or love ones is very common to Filipinos. But sometimes eating what our body needs like healthy food is one of the things we often take for granted because of the lifestyle that we have.

But for many Filipino children and their families, access to nutritious meals is a constant struggle. Satisfying hunger is one thing; ensuring that the food is nourishing is another challenge altogether. This nutrition gap can lead to deficiencies that deprive a growing child’s body of proper nutrients needed for growth and brain development.

According to data from UNICEF, two of the main micronutrient deficiencies are iron and iodine. Iodine is vital for normal growth and tissue development. Lack of iodine can contribute to brain damage that is otherwise preventable. It is most devastating during fetal development and the first few years of a child’s life.

Iron helps carry oxygen around the body, and is especially vital for the brain and blood. Ir…
