Mother's Day Celebration at Shopwise

Mother's Day is a day of celebrating motherhood. It's also the day we honor the silent heroes in our home. This is also the time to show our appreciation to the woman who gave everything, who did their best and who continue to love their children despite all the challenges in life. A mom's love is unjaded.

Last May 13, Shopwise Alabang treat the loyal mommy shoppers and their family in an afternoon of fun and learning activities for Shopwise Mother Day Celebration. There were cooking lesson, Wine 101 and Wine and Cocktail Show.

Cooking Lessons with Chef Jee Mingoa

Chef Jee is a seasoned Chef of Alchemy Bar and Bistro. He is an expert in French, Western and Mediterranean cuisine. Je shared her expertise and knowledge in cooking by preparing 2 simple yummy dishes that will surely be loved by moms like me.

Pan-Fried Fish Fillet with Caper Tomato
This Pan-Fried Fish Fillet with Caper Tomato will be a nice and simple dish to cook for our moms this month of May.

Creamy Beef Paprikash
This flavorful dish can be done in less than 30 minutes. It will be a great dish to include in your dinner menu to surprise your mom.

Wine and Cocktails Show with Joseph Apostol

To make the afternoon more exciting, Joseph Apostol, President of Philippine Wine Flairing did an awesome Cocktails for moms to enjoy.

Mamita el Mojito
Mojito is one of my favorite cocktail drink. With Mamita el Mojito, Joseph Apostol did not add any rum on it but instead he added Moscato ( Cranswick Lakefield ).

Citrus Sunshine
Citrus Sunshine is a nice mixture of orange juice, sugar, lemons, basils and 120 ml of Cabernet Merlot ( BeachHut Australia ).

Blossoming Mom
Just like the two first cocktails, this one can be the perfect drink to make for Mother's Day celebration.
To make the Blossoming Mom, simply mix 120 ml of Moscato ( The Family Trentham), 60 ml of Cranberry Juice,  5 ml of intense Cherry Blossom, 5 ml Lemon Juice and 100 grams of ice.

Wine 101with Mattia Mauri

Who will miss this kind of chance to try different varieties of wine from Australia?
Mattia Mauri, a wine expert from Italy who started learning about wine right after his school in Europe before moving to Australia wherein he further develop his skills and knowledge.

" The best wine is the wine that you liked"
says Mattia Mauri

He specializes in Australian and Italian wine to be particular. He recommended a number of Australian wines that are being sold or available at Shopwise.  The top-selling brand is Beach Hut, Chain of Fire and Lakefield which cost around Php 200 to almost 600 pesos.

I'm thankful to Shopwise for making our day so special. I've learned 2 new dishes from the cooking lesson with Chef Jee. I was able to know the different variety of wines but I like the Lakefield the most. I enjoyed the Wine and Cocktail Show of Joseph.

It was an enjoyable and learning day for moms like me. By the way, all the ingredients including the wines that it was used in the recipes and wine show can be purchased in all Shopwise branches nationwide.

Nutri 10 Plus, Vitamins Perfect For Child's Growing Needs

Summer is already here. The temperature last week was 34°c and its getting hotter everyday. We have to open our windows to make sure that we won't get suffocated because of the heat. Summer is also the season of flu, bacteria that can cause cough and build up of phlegm. Kids should always be geared with proper protection. Their body needs protection from harmful diseases. That's why I was so thankful that I used Nutri 10 vitamins for my Chelsea. This is the kind of vitamins that she really need. For sure most of you know that Chelsea is a picky eater. She only eat if we have Sinigang or gravy that she put in her steamed rice. After taking Nutri 10 for almost a month now. I noticed some changes in her appetite and daily routine.  Before, Chelsea stays up until 2 am and wakes up around 11 am. Thankfully that routine changed and she also started to eat vegetables. As a mom I'm always worried because I know that she is not getting the right nutrients that her

A quick trip down holiday memory lane

Can you feel it? The cold breeze, holiday songs, festive decorations, and colorful lights and lanterns… it’s Christmas season, everybody! Filipinos are known to celebrate Christmas the longest – it starts with the BER months and ends in January. Along with parties and get-togethers, we also have different traditions to celebrate the yuletide season. Since I was a kid, I associated grapes and round fruits with the holiday season. My grandma used to buy a lot of grapes during the BER months and placed them on our table along with other fruits. The grapes were also hung on windows and doors to help bring in good fortune for the coming year. I remember her asking me who was eating the grapes as she noticed that they were slowly “disappearing” and I said it must have been my aunties and our cat. But… It was silly me all along, of course! My aunties ended up buying more, much to my delight.   For Christmas eve, my aunties and grandma would make their delicious fruit salad – a huge can of f
