Singapore's Famous Rong Hua Bak Kuh Teh is now in Manila

Bak Kuh Teh is the well-known morning meal in Singapore which means " Meat Bone Tea". This soup has 3 key main , ingredients; garlic, star anise and pepper. These herbs that are found in Bak Kuh Teh is known for its health benefits like preventing heart disease, healing herb, helps fight cancer.

Rong Hua Bak Kuh Teh is one of Singapore's oldest and famous restaurants which is  popular for its signature pork rib soup. They have 3 branches in Singapore ;MarinaSquare, Punggol Waterway Point, and in Fusionopolis. I heard a lot of good reviews about the Bak Kuh Teh thru my Filipino friends who are working in Singapore.

I was craving and curious to have a taste of this famous dish in Singapore. The good news is, I don't need to go that far since Rong Hua Bak Kuh Teh is opening their door to Filipinos as they opened its first store outside the Lion City.

Yesterday I was invited, to try the famous Rong Hua Bak Kuh Teh pork soups and some of their recommended dishes.

Bak Kuh Teh Pork Rib Soup
If the Philippines we have what we called " Nilagang Baboy" which is a perfect dish to serve during rainy days.
In Singapore their favorite meal in the morning is the Bak Kuh Teh. One of the variations of their Pork Soups is the Pork Ribs Soups. The soup has this garlicky flavor but the first thing that I noticed is that pepper overpower the other ingredients. The flavor and taste were new to me, but as I continue tasting the soup it becomes more interesting.

The soup is a must-try because of its unique and bold flavor. This is best to have during the rainy season. But I was expecting that the meat was tender and it should be like it will fall off the bone, but there is always a room for improvement.

Here are the Rong Hua Bak Kuh Teh Recommended Choices.

I am familiar with some of these dishes since these are likely the same Chinese dishes that I was able to try while I was living in Hong Kong.

Roast Duck
This dish doesn't taste like a duck I thought this is a premium cut ham. It is has a sweet flavor and easy to chew. Kids will also definitely love this dish

Braised Chicken Feet with Bean Curd
Did I say Beancurd? I almost finish the bean curd.
This dish has a nice flavor that anyone would love to try. But if you are not a fan of Chicken Feet you may want to try some of the other recommendations.

Steamed Lotus Buns
This is now one of my favorite in their menu.
The lotus buns are freshly made by Rong Hua Bak Kuh Teh. Inside was a soft and tender marinated roast pork belly or loin. Perfect for a take-out or if you are on the go.

Steamed Tofu with minced meat
Tofu is known for its health benefits and if you are on a diet Tofu is one of the nice things to put on your list.
The tofu was perfectly steamed, it was soft and has a nice texture, it goes well with the minced meat that was placed on top of it.

Smoked Duck in Crispy Spring Roll

Rong Hua Bak Kuh Teh  was named from the restaurant founders. Chua Ah Hua, the restaurant fou ding ground father and Uncle Rong the stall owner of a well-known Bak Kuh Teh in a village.
Ah Hua migrated in Singapore and become the kitchen apprentice. He mastered the art of cooking Bak Kuh Teh and later created their unique blend of the pork ribs soup recipe. Before Uncle Rong passed away, He named Ah Hua as his successor.

So what are you waiting for? come and visit Rong Hua Bak Kuh Teh and experience its goodness first-hand, they are located at Asia Town Le Grand Ave, West Mckinley in Taguig City.

Nutri 10 Plus, Vitamins Perfect For Child's Growing Needs

Summer is already here. The temperature last week was 34°c and its getting hotter everyday. We have to open our windows to make sure that we won't get suffocated because of the heat. Summer is also the season of flu, bacteria that can cause cough and build up of phlegm. Kids should always be geared with proper protection. Their body needs protection from harmful diseases. That's why I was so thankful that I used Nutri 10 vitamins for my Chelsea. This is the kind of vitamins that she really need. For sure most of you know that Chelsea is a picky eater. She only eat if we have Sinigang or gravy that she put in her steamed rice. After taking Nutri 10 for almost a month now. I noticed some changes in her appetite and daily routine.  Before, Chelsea stays up until 2 am and wakes up around 11 am. Thankfully that routine changed and she also started to eat vegetables. As a mom I'm always worried because I know that she is not getting the right nutrients that her

A quick trip down holiday memory lane

Can you feel it? The cold breeze, holiday songs, festive decorations, and colorful lights and lanterns… it’s Christmas season, everybody! Filipinos are known to celebrate Christmas the longest – it starts with the BER months and ends in January. Along with parties and get-togethers, we also have different traditions to celebrate the yuletide season. Since I was a kid, I associated grapes and round fruits with the holiday season. My grandma used to buy a lot of grapes during the BER months and placed them on our table along with other fruits. The grapes were also hung on windows and doors to help bring in good fortune for the coming year. I remember her asking me who was eating the grapes as she noticed that they were slowly “disappearing” and I said it must have been my aunties and our cat. But… It was silly me all along, of course! My aunties ended up buying more, much to my delight.   For Christmas eve, my aunties and grandma would make their delicious fruit salad – a huge can of f
