Tracing back my steps on how and when I started blogging

It was more than five years now since I started my journey to blogging. I remember resigning from my previous job as a customer service representative from a local BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) to become a full-time mom for my kids. The adjustment was not easy as my body was still used to my usual routine when I was still working. Thankfully I was able to cope up after a month.

During my free time, I usually read online blogs about parenting, beauty, and lifestyle. I remember following some pioneer bloggers back then who are now well-known influencers in their field. These bloggers inspired me to start my blog that focuses on parenting, food, and lifestyle. I decided to tell my husband about my plan and, I was able to get his support to start my blog "The Kitchen Mom by Dhess." My goal back then was to write my personal experiences about parenting and lifestyle, recipes of my favorite dishes that I prepare for my family, and a personal review of the places and restaurants that we had visited.

My blog has been my way of expressing myself and became the platform where I share my experiences and lifestyle with other moms. The blog caught the attention of other moms who has the same experiences and had an interest in the topics that I post, and that is when I started to see comments popping up on my blog posts that created a thread of conversations from different moms.

The joy I felt seeing other people read and leave positive comments on the blogs I wrote was indescribable. It inspired me to create more contents for my blog and created a Facebook page to allow my followers to be more updated and have a place where they can interact. Aside from followers, I also received messages and invitations from different brands to join their events and product reviews, an opportunity that I never imagined when I started my blog.

When my page reached 7000 followers in 2018, I decided to have a thanksgiving celebration for this milestone and also celebrate the 4th anniversary of my blog and to give back to the blogging community, where I invited some followers and few blogger friends.

While my social media page steadily grew, expanding from Facebook to Instagram, I still never forgotten where I started. I continue writing about food and lifestyle on my blog while managing my social media accounts. From 2019 until the present, my blog received recognition and awards from different websites. In 2019, Promocode.com.ph awarded it  for being the "Best food Blogs Award 2019, and on the following year, Feedspot.com recognized my blog as  one of the "Top 100 Philippines Blogs and websites to follow in 2020" and "Top 100 Philippines blogs, Websites& Influencers in 2021."

When the pandemic started, being online has been the new normal. The rise of more influencers from different platforms like Youtube, Tiktok, Instagram, Facebook went all-time-high. Instead of being threatened, I took this opportunity to work as a freelance in Social Media Marketing to help brands find the right influencer and market their products on Social Media.

One of the things I learned as an influencer/blogger is to adapt to changes and always remember that your readers/viewers/followers look up to you, and they deserve quality content for every article or video that you post.

The online community is a vast ocean for influencers. There are times that waves of discouragement may hit you. Like Celia Abernethy, keep paddling and strive to provide contents that will relate to your readers or viewers, and You arrive at the land of your opportunities.

Tigdas/Measles: Mga Sintomas, Pagkain at Lunas

Nutri 10 Plus, Vitamins Perfect For Child's Growing Needs

Summer is already here. The temperature last week was 34°c and its getting hotter everyday. We have to open our windows to make sure that we won't get suffocated because of the heat. Summer is also the season of flu, bacteria that can cause cough and build up of phlegm. Kids should always be geared with proper protection. Their body needs protection from harmful diseases. That's why I was so thankful that I used Nutri 10 vitamins for my Chelsea. This is the kind of vitamins that she really need. For sure most of you know that Chelsea is a picky eater. She only eat if we have Sinigang or gravy that she put in her steamed rice. After taking Nutri 10 for almost a month now. I noticed some changes in her appetite and daily routine.  Before, Chelsea stays up until 2 am and wakes up around 11 am. Thankfully that routine changed and she also started to eat vegetables. As a mom I'm always worried because I know that she is not getting the right nutrients that her

A quick trip down holiday memory lane

Can you feel it? The cold breeze, holiday songs, festive decorations, and colorful lights and lanterns… it’s Christmas season, everybody! Filipinos are known to celebrate Christmas the longest – it starts with the BER months and ends in January. Along with parties and get-togethers, we also have different traditions to celebrate the yuletide season. Since I was a kid, I associated grapes and round fruits with the holiday season. My grandma used to buy a lot of grapes during the BER months and placed them on our table along with other fruits. The grapes were also hung on windows and doors to help bring in good fortune for the coming year. I remember her asking me who was eating the grapes as she noticed that they were slowly “disappearing” and I said it must have been my aunties and our cat. But… It was silly me all along, of course! My aunties ended up buying more, much to my delight.   For Christmas eve, my aunties and grandma would make their delicious fruit salad – a huge can of f
