GRILLA Filipino Cuisine - A Casual Filipino Family Restaurant

Casual Filipino Family Restaurant

Grilla Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato

Filipinos are well-known for hospitality and family gathering. We always serve Filipino dishes and we are proud of it. I love to cook Western and Italian Dishes but nothing can compare to our own  Filipino cuisine.

So, I was glad to receive an invite to dine in this casual Filipino family restaurant, Grilla in Pasay City. It's time for the Kitchen Mom to savor our own local cuisine

Grilla Filipino Cuisine is a specialty casual Filipino family restaurant. They started their first branch in Antipolo in 1998 and in 2016 they opened their new store in SM MOA by the Bay. It started as one of the popular drinking and dining destination but the management decided to tweak its image to become more family friendly.

Grilla Filipino Cuisine offers new local dishes and foreign-inspired barbeques. Their concept and ideas are all original such as " Buckets of Beer' and Grilla Feast. They also represent a wide choice of authentic Filipino Dishes from all over the country.

Beef Kansi

Is the specialty dish in Grilla. This is their best seller.
Beef Kansi is a famous Bacolod dish which looks like a combination of Bulalo and Sinigang. The Beef and bone marrow with a sour soup made with kamias makes this dish taste great. The broth is not too sour like the original version of Sinigang but it also has little kick of spiciness.

TOKWA'T MANOK
We are so used to Tokwa't Baboy, right? In this dish instead of using Pork Belly or Liempo, they combine the Grilled Chicken Inasal and Fried Tofu with mildly spiced sweet-soy-vinegar Sauce. A healthy version of Tokwa't Baboy. I applaud the mind behind this dish.

Grill-A-Palayok
It was an original dish from Grilla. This was my first time to taste this dish, a combination of seafood such Mussels, Clams, Mata-Mata fillet, thinly sliced beef and pork belly cooked over very hot stones in a palayok (clay pot),
There is smooth round shaped stones inside the clay pot, which helps the seafood and shells to cook.
The broth is really rich in flavor. I was thinking that it was meat broth but actually, the broth was a mixture of ginger and lemongrass. It is also served with three condiments.
Sinamak, Nilasing Na Mangga and Soy Vinegar Dip.
This dish is extra special for me.

PISTA SA NAYON
With this dish, I remember the fiestas in provinces that I visited. Mostly of the local Filipino dish is in this huge plate
Crispy Pata, Sinampalukang Inihaw Na Manok, Seafood Gising-Gising, Fried Okoy and Steamed Rice. This is good to order if you are going to dine in with your family or colleagues

Crispy Chicharon Bacon
Who doesn't like Bacon specially if it is crunchy, a more tastier way to enjoy if served with a glass of beer.

CRISPY FISH TRIO
Crispy Fried srips of Tilapia, Hito and Bangus served with Vinegar Dip.

HALO HALO SPRING ROLLS
Deep fried spring rolls of red mongo beans, sweetened banana and kamote. Served with Ube Ice Cream and sprinkle of toasted pinipig.

Grilla Dessert Sampler
Suman-Mangga and Macapuno topped with Vanilla Ice Cream,  all time favorite dessert Leche Flan, Palitaw smothered in coconut suace.

Grilla also serves regional Filipino specialties likeDinardaraan, Ilocos Bagnet, Lechong Liempo ala Cebu, Beef Kamto at Litid Sinanglao, Inadobong Tilapia sa Gata at Sili.

I enjoyed my late lunch at Grilla Filipino Cuisine. Its a feast of Filipino Cuisine. Bring your family in Grilla, especially  your grandma and grandpa, for sure they will love the ambiance and the food.
It is perfect for family bonding.

Grilla Filipino Cuisine is located at SM MOA by the Bay.

Again, as always thank you so much guys for visiting my page. I hope you enjoyed your stay. Please always do visit my blog for more of my adventures inside and outside my little kitchen. This is your Kitchen Mom, Dhess . . see you on my next adventure .

Dengue is Real, Keep Your Child Safe with OFF! Lotion

Our Family is always our top priority. It was September of 2015 when my daughter was hospitalized and turned out to be positive for Dengue, as a mom I was so scared. Nurses always come in to our room every 6 hours to get blood sample from my daughter for them to monitor her platelet count.  It was an unpleasant sight for me to see my daughter in that condition at her young age. When my daughter cries due to the pain of needle inserted to her skin, it was a more painful scene and sound for me, wishing that all of what I see and hear are not real, it was really heart breaking. It was that same month in which Dengue case was really prominent and a lot of kids are being rushed to the same hospital to be treated, we stayed in the hospital for more than a week for my daughter's recovery and since then, I always said to my self "Never Again" that I will allow this to happen and was thankful to God that she guided my daughter Before our stay in the ho...
