Cooking up steps to self-improvement

Cooking can be simple and easy for some and others might find it a bit difficult to handle for different reasons. Some started to value and know the importance of cooking or making a mess in the kitchen at an early age but still enjoys the atmosphere and willing to learn more about it. Young professionals today are not only eating out more but also leaning heavily on the convenience of takeout. But that leads to a whole different set of problems. Not only is it more expensive to eat out, but when you live on meals made for you by other people, you tend to gravitate towards the unhealthy- fast food, deep-fried, overly sweet or salty, or loaded with saturated fat. That can lead to weight gain and all the health problems that come with an unhealthy diet. Skills to a healthier, happier life However, a lot of men and women have decided that enough is enough and take matters into their own hands, learning how to do the basics that have been forgotten while growing up. Buhay Carinderia... Redefined will Showcase the Best of the Best in Filipino Culinary Scene

I still remember when my grandmother wakes up early in the morning and starts her kitchen routine. She usually prepares  almost all if my favorite breakfast  meals in big casseroles and you can even guess what's cooking just by smell, like Sopas, Champorado, Pansit Guisado, Spaghetti,  Puto at Dinuguan, Menudo, Afritada, Sinigang na Bangus, and some fried dishes. With a queue of neighbors outside our house is what I usually see every morning in my nanay Taba's carinderia. Carinderia are somehow like a fast food chains that offers quick home cooked meals. Very popular for Filipinos who doesn't have time to cook. This also serves as an authentic identity of our food history. Hokkaido's Delightful Bake Cheese Tart is now here in Manila

Its been a year since this newest Japanese food trend like the Baked Cheese tart becomes a big hit to Filipinos. I always asked my cousin who work in Japan for almost three years to bring the Hokkaido's best-baked cheese tart.Honestly, I was really touched when she showed me a box of freshly baked cheese tart when she arrived at the airport, starting from that day I always crave for the authentic taste of the Hokkaido bake cheese tart. Japan a country rich in cultural and gastronomical experience. A country in which cheese has been carefully crafted to suit Japanese taste and uniqueness that everyone will love. There’s something about Japan that makes it a dream destination for many—the perfect spring weather, the beautiful but short-lived sakura and its delectable cuisine— rich pork broth of ramen, fresh sushi, melt-in-your-mouth wagyu and delightful cheese tarts, foremost of which is Hokkaido’s cult favorite, BAKE Cheese Tart. BAKE Cheese Tart  opened their stor

Jollibee opens its First Store in Milan, Italy

Homesickness is one of the things our Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW's) experience, and I tell you, it is not easy, but somehow we can conquer it when we talk  to our kababayans or if we see one of the our favorite Filipino fast food chain and be along with our fellow Filipinos lining up to be one of  first to try once agin the famous brand that we loved. With this being said, the country’s largest fast-food chain has opened its first-ever European branch in Milan, Italy where an estimated 170,000 Filipinos live. Located in Piazza Diaz 7, Milan, the Jollibee branch is just a stone's throw from Duomo, Milan Cathedral. In the early hours of its opening day, customers—families, young people, members of the Filipino community, and even locals—were already seen lining up in front of the Jollibee store just to have a taste of its world-famous Chickenjoy. Jollibee Milan’s first customer, Rodessa Tibay, waited for hours to taste the goodness of the Filipino fastfood c

The Big Blowout Boodle from Seafood Island

If there is one thing common with Filipinos, I believe that would be the love of FOOD . I can still remember when my other relatives come home, not only that we get crowded at home but also our table gets crowded. They usually call it "The Filipino hospitality". Recently, I had the opportunity to dine at Blackbeard's Seafood Island and with doing so, I had relived the experience of my childhood days in which food was served on top of the banana leaves and from clay pots, giving that more appetizing look and aroma. Nothing beats Kare-Kare when paired with bagoong Blackbeard's Seafood Island is a seafood restaurant located in the Bldg.G SM by the bay, Seaside Blvd. SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City and has other branches nationwide. This restaurant is well-known for its fresh seafood and boodle feast. Studio Bake a Bread Gallery for Everyone

With all these Bakeshops that offers almost the same bread and pastries on their displays, only a few of them offers quality bread that you'll definitely remember. Recently, I was invited to attend the Grand opening of Studio Bake, a bread gallery that is located at the UG West Expansion Wing of Festival Mall in Alabang. Seeing the place for the first time gives you the cozy feeling and a guarantee that the products that you will buy are freshly baked and delicious. You won't stick to one since they offer varieties of bread and pastries and it ranges from sweet to artisanal. There is something for everyone to bite into. I've been really curious to try and when I tasted it, I was really hooked especially for their pork floss! The products are really affordable and high quality. I can say that it is worth every peso that you'll pay for it. According to them, they produce their bread before the sun comes up. Everything starts with a fresh batch. Knea

Affordable Asian Restaurants in the Metro

According to playwright George Bernard Shaw, "there is no sincerer love than the love for food". With all the restaurants in the metro, we may have tried some of it and still a lot to discover, different cuisines, taste, and styles in serving their best sellers. My goal is to find these restaurants together with other foodies from the Metro. Sen Lek Thai Noodles Is a small shop located on the ground floor of SMDC Sea Residences in Macapagal Ave just across the Golden Phoenix Hotel, This place is mostly visited by foreign nationalities who are staying in near the area.
