School year is about to end, so aside from the long awaited vacation of our kids, we as parents always wanted to make sure that our kids will have a meaningful summer vacation. When I was a kid I remember freely running in our backyard and playing with other kids and that is where I develop my social skills and exercise my sportsmanship in different games that we played. The entire duration of my vacation during my childhood were spent in playing with friends outdoor, household chores, visiting my cousins or relatives who lived far from us and ofcourse watch my grandmother cook our favorite dishes for me to learn her craft. Generation may pass but kids nowadays still need to develop their skills, hobbies, socialize and enhance whatever talent they may have, so aside from going to the beach or spending the whole day in front of the computer it would help if we introduce our kids in other activities that they can unleash their hidden talents and at the same time help them improve

Is it ok for us parents to be overprotective to our kids? Being protective of your is a child is natural for parents especially for mother's. But I've read that being too overprotected can cause more harm to the child, it increases the child anxiety when they are not allowed to overcome their fear. Honestly, I'm one of the so-called "helicopter mom", I really pay close attention to my children, their problems, emotion, and experiences. I usually say " No" to the things or situation that they might get hurt emotionally and physically. I'm not allowing them to face their fear, learn and enjoy what usually kids love to do. As a mom, one of the things that I have encountered with my daughter as she grows is being picky with what she ate. It was not easy and since I need to consider her health and nutrition I can not just give in to giving her what my daughter only wanted.I knew then that I needed to make a smart choice of giving her something that she will like and enjoy. Recently I was invited to an intimate event by Goya with my co-mommies and together with celebrity moms Camille Pratts and Kelly Misa and well-known hairstylist and makeup guru, Lourd Ramos.  I knew that this is the end for my quest in looking for smart choices in life, in the event they all shared their experiences in life and the smart choices that they have made to excel as a person, mom and a business owner.
