The Black Pig, Taste of Modern European Cuisine

The Black Pig Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato

A few weeks ago I started checking some new restaurant, bars, and those restaurants that I've never been before. There are places that you know that you can just sit and just order anything on the menu without being intimidated by the place or the people eating at the next table.

Casual Dining can be, somehow luxurious but one thing is for sure " You only live once and we work not just to sleep and pay bills, so giving yourself a treat for a sumptuous meal is a must.

Someone asked me this question,
"Is it expensive to eat in a European restaurant?", at first, My answer is Maybe Yes, Maybe Not?
Just yesterday I chat with her and told her about my dining experience in a modern European restaurant, called the Black Pig.

Black Pig is a modern European restaurant located on the 2nd floor of Commerce Center, Alabang. One thing I like about this restaurant aside from their unique and delicious food is that they don't have a specialty. Chef Carlos, the one who is in charge with the everyday menu makes sure that the guest will enjoy different dishes everytime they visit. Chef Carlos said that he gets bored if he'll  cook the same dishes every day. So what he does is add something on it or add a modern twist to the dish. For me, that is something uniquely true and it also gives way for a gastronomical fusion.

The Place has a warm color and an interior design which is very inviting. It also has this feel at home ambiance that makes your dining experience more welcoming.
The table settings were just casual, not too many utensils on my table which is fine with me. I also love the wooden table outside the veranda that perfectly compliments the ambiance. The plate's design and shapes are also nice.

The Food is a combination of Italian, Spanish and European touch, it's because of Chef Carlos' wide experience when it comes to this cuisines. As a starter they served bread. For your information, they make their own bread.

Charcuterie Board
The first thing that was served is the charcuterie board. the board showcases slices cold cooked meat. It has prosciutto, Parma ham, with little salad on the side with house blend dressing.

Black Ink Risotto
Risotto is an Italian rice dish cooked in a broth until the creamy consistency has been achieved. what is unique with this dish is it has been added, giving it a dark color although it did not compromise the taste but did give a great twist to the usual risotto.

Shrimp Risotto
The taste is as expected, but I can say that it is still good since it made my tummy happy. I just have one suggestion, maybe it will be great if they add a few pieces of shrimp on it.

Black Pig Burger
The burger is good for sharing because it's larger than the regular serving, tomatoes and cucumber slices were topped by the patty although I noticed that the burger patty was not too cooked. Some part in the middle is still pink and raw. So I guess it was cooked as medium well. Although the burger is still good. Other may prefer their meat not too cooked but I think they may still want to ask about the meat preference.
The onion strips on the side are tasted good and a healthy option for a snack than chips.

Asian Mix
The combination of the color of the lettuce and other leafy veggies makes the dish looks more appetizing. I had a few nachos and some salad which I think is one of the nice to order in this restaurant if you are coming with your friends or loved ones.

Mushroom Truffle Cannelloni
I'll be honest but actually, this is my first time to try this dish. It's one of the best dishes I ate here in Black Pig. It was just a simple roll in a creamy sauce with mushroom and truffles but it will really delight your taste bud. You should try this if you see this in the Menu

Salt Crusted Seabass
This is my 2nd time to try the Steamed Crusted Seabass. They put some lemongrass and garlic inside to remove the fish's smell. The fish is still moist but with the taste, I think something is missing. I also didn't smell the fresh aroma of the fish maybe because they already cracked the salt before they served it. But it tastes good when you dip it in the house blend sauce.

Pork Belly
The meat is so tender but I'm not really a fan of the fatty part. It also compliments the sauces and other ingredients in the plate but I think I will not order this one because it will just be a waste for someone like me who don't eat fatty part. But it was tender and good. It's just not my thing.

Calamares and Fries
This is one of my favorite. The Calamari is tender and crispy on the outside. Not overcooked. Doesn't have the fishy taste which I really don't like when in Calamares. One of my recommendation.

I think you can already enjoy a nice lunch and dinner for two for roughly Php1,500 - Php1,700
The staff is really nice, very accommodating. They will serve your food with a smile.
They accept cash and card. The restaurant is open from Tues- Sun 10am- 12 mn and Monday 5pm-12mn.

If you happen to be in the area of Las Pinas or Alabang and looking for a place to hang out with friends, The Black Pig is just in Commerce Center.

not bad na ang price for two momsh . Napa oo nga yes naman ako dito - You only live once and we work not just to sleep and pay bills, so giving yourself a treat for a sumptuous meal is a must. Ako kasi matipid pagdating sa paying more pagdating sa food, contrary kay husband na pagdating sa food ok sa kanya gumastos basta may pera siya and yan din katwiran nya lalo for us and kids naman😊 I thought too ganyang resto eh super mahalya, not pala. We can send ourselves for a date this hearts day hehe.

Tigdas/Measles: Mga Sintomas, Pagkain at Lunas

Nutri 10 Plus, Vitamins Perfect For Child's Growing Needs

Summer is already here. The temperature last week was 34°c and its getting hotter everyday. We have to open our windows to make sure that we won't get suffocated because of the heat. Summer is also the season of flu, bacteria that can cause cough and build up of phlegm. Kids should always be geared with proper protection. Their body needs protection from harmful diseases. That's why I was so thankful that I used Nutri 10 vitamins for my Chelsea. This is the kind of vitamins that she really need. For sure most of you know that Chelsea is a picky eater. She only eat if we have Sinigang or gravy that she put in her steamed rice. After taking Nutri 10 for almost a month now. I noticed some changes in her appetite and daily routine.  Before, Chelsea stays up until 2 am and wakes up around 11 am. Thankfully that routine changed and she also started to eat vegetables. As a mom I'm always worried because I know that she is not getting the right nutrients that her

A quick trip down holiday memory lane

Can you feel it? The cold breeze, holiday songs, festive decorations, and colorful lights and lanterns… it’s Christmas season, everybody! Filipinos are known to celebrate Christmas the longest – it starts with the BER months and ends in January. Along with parties and get-togethers, we also have different traditions to celebrate the yuletide season. Since I was a kid, I associated grapes and round fruits with the holiday season. My grandma used to buy a lot of grapes during the BER months and placed them on our table along with other fruits. The grapes were also hung on windows and doors to help bring in good fortune for the coming year. I remember her asking me who was eating the grapes as she noticed that they were slowly “disappearing” and I said it must have been my aunties and our cat. But… It was silly me all along, of course! My aunties ended up buying more, much to my delight.   For Christmas eve, my aunties and grandma would make their delicious fruit salad – a huge can of f
